Frequently asked questions

Q: How long does my hair need to be to have dreads ?
A: About 10 cm minimum is required, but for optimal results I recommend to have it to the shoulders.

Q: How do I wash em ?
A: I recommend only with hot water but once in a week with a regular residulessshampoo works fine too ^^
To dry them i recommend to squeeze them without turning them, then put them upp so the dreads covers the most of the front roots and let them hang together a couple of hoursin order to make loose hair get back in some dreads..

Q: I got head head lices, do i have to cut off the dreads to get rid of them ??
A: No, not at all, use a whole bottle of prioderm, put it dry on your hair, wait 8h in horrible stench, wash. the lices will be dead and wonīt bother you anymore but itīll take a month or two for their corpses to dissapear totaly from your head Wink

Q: Do i have to shave my head when i want to get rid of them?
A: Not neccesarily, you can always stop taking care of them a few months before and then cut them, and try to save the length you wish to save.

Q: How long time does it take to have dreads
A: It usually takes 10 to 15 hours to make them, and then all from one month to 1year for them to get this garnlike feeling that we call dreads, depending on your hair and how much effort you put in taking care of them.

Q: How much do i need to take care of my dreads ?
A: Itīs up to you, but keep in mind that your dreads will be what you make of them, if you take good care of them regularly theyīll look good, if you skip that theyīre on their own, and who knows how itīll look, some people like it that way, some not, question of taste. But if you wanna have good looking dreads you need to take care of them on an everyday basis, thus it might 30seconds 10 times a day ...

Q: How much hairlength will i loose ?
A: Depends on how you make em, usally when I make em you loose about 20%. Also depends on the thickness of your hair. But hey, hair grows Wink

Q: Wax ?
A: Some people thinks that itīs the wax that makes the dreads..bullshit. Only two things makes dreads, knots and time. The waxīs purpose is when newly dreaded, itīs ment to hold together the existing knots while they dread. In no way it will make new knots. I recommend 100% natural beeīs wax only.

Q: Can I color my dreads ?
A: Of course, but usually itīs best to wait at least 6 months after making them.

Q: I wanna have dreads for the summer, can you make dreads that are easy to remove ?
A: hahahaha. No. Making dreads is a long process, you have to make them ( takes from 5 to 25 hours), wax them (1 month) and take care of them continuously (first year is hell!) itīs definitly not worth going trought all that just to look fancy at festivals, if you do make dreads for the summer, theyīll mostly look like shit because they will be in the middle of the dreading process (first 6 months from day 0).If you do wanna have dreads, I recommend you to keep them at least 3 years to make it worth going through all the caretaking and time you will have to spend. However, if you just wanna look fancy at festivals, look out for my summer "pay per dreads" campaign.
